2019 Roxanne the Razor – Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola
The Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola were picked on the same day, crushed and fermented together with wild yeast in a small open stainless-steel fermenter.
This wine is our attempt at essentially trying to emulate a light, cool climate red, with Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola being the perfect varieties for the task. When picked early they carry great acidity, with a fruit profile of crunchy, sour cherry and green strawberry on the front palate. This fruitiness gives way to a lovely earthy savouriness, forest floor vibe held together by a touch of fuzzy tannin and grippy mouthfeel, whilst still remaining fresh, light and moreish.
